Climate

Larimer county has greatly diverse weather, depending on location and elevation. For typical weather statistics, we look at Fort Collins (elevation 5000 feet), located on the high plains at the foot of the mountains, and Estes Park (elevation 7522 feet) located in a high mountain valley. Both of these are in the southern part of the county, climate in the northern parts of the county is slightly cooler and drier, but again elevation is a more important influence on the weather than latitude.
